Milan Fashion Week

With the men's shows in full swing, the heavyweights in Milan have strutted their male models down the runway in typically over the top fashion. We've taken our favorite looks from the shows and added the soundtrack. See which songs we think perfectly match the designers vision below.

Bally - "Alison" by Elvis Costello

Listen here:

The tightly fitted suits, cropped jackets and horn-rimmed glasses all give off a geek-chic vibe perfectly matched to the singers 1960s aesthetic.

Roberto Cavalli - "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones

Listen here:

Everything about Peter Dundas' first men's showing for Roberto Cavalli harkened back to a time of cool androgeny, and singing alpha males. From the velvet jackets to the loose scarves, it's almost like Mick himself came back from 1971.

Dolce & Gabbana - "I Walk the Line" by Johnny Cash

Listen here:

The Italians took more than a few reference points from the wild American west in their Fall 2016 presentation. Embroidered denim, cactus print and oversized fur jackets and pants all strutted down the runway juxtaposed with models livestreaming from tablets.

Gucci - "The New Pollution" by Beck

Listen here:

From the hats to the patterened seperates, Gucci men's under Alessandro Michele brings back memories of the mid-1990s fare worn by the singer/songwriter. The new Gucci man is slightly bohemian and slightly androgyneous, but has the confidence to wear an embroidered granny coat or a silk pussy bow blouse. It's all very Beck mixed with newer style star Harry Styles.

Prada - "Human Behavior" by Bjork

Listen here:

Slightly utilitarian with the wide leg pants, boxy shilouettes and sailor hats, Prada mens is less flamboyant than the rest, but also begs for a soundtrack that's quirky and slightly dark. Icelandic queen Bjork is the perfect artsy compliment to Miuccia Prada's vision.

Versace - "Space Oddity" by David Bowie

Listen here:

"Far above the Moon, the Earth is Blue," croons David Bowie in Space Oddity, and it's melody is perfect for the futuristic collection Donatella Versace crafted for men this fall. Shiny silver pants and jackets beckon for a high-fashion ski getaway, while embellished suits were inspired by what Donatella called the final frontier.
