The biggest, and final, destination for fashion week is none other than the City of Lights. It’s here the major names pull out all the stops to wow the show-weary. Raf Simons built a 53-foot-tall flower mound at the Louve for Christian Dior, Heidi Slimane’s Saint Laurent girls emerged from a glowing cube and Alexander Wang’s last bow at Balenciaga took place to Notorious B.I.G around a spa-like pool. But it was Tom Ford, who wasn’t in Paris at all, who managed to steal the spotlight with a video presentation in lieu of a traditional show starring Lady Gaga.

Second-Skin Slip Dresses

A staple of the 1990s the slip dress is breezing its way into your closet come spring. Valentino’s was classic, Saint Laurent’s came in slinky black silk and Balenciaga’s was breezy white, so there are plenty of styles to choose from.

Jewel Tones

Spring may be synonymous with a lighter palette, but spring 2016 comes with a bolder tint. Designers sent models parading down the runway in rich blues, purples and oranges to name a few.

Loose Layers

It's no longer about a strictly skin-tight aesthetic. Designers from Tom Ford to Phoebe Philo at Celine showed looks heavy on loosely layered separates with drapy tops, flowy pants and asymmetrical hems.

White Out

It's always a trend for the warmer months, and spring 2016 is no different, so don't throw away those white outfits yet. The pale summer shade took over entire looks with matching separates, and even inspired Alexander Wang to create a collection full of nothing but white for his final Balenciaga show.

From Sequins to intricate beading, garments were hardly sent down the runway plain this season. Valentino notably took references from African art, while Tom Ford's sequin gowns are every party girl's dream.

While the rest of the fashion world is in a tizzy flying between New York, London, Milan and Paris for fashion week, Tom  Ford is doing exactly what Tom Ford does – not worrying about the masses. The provocative designer didn’t “have time” to produce a full runway show for his spring 2016 women’s wear collection, so instead he released a disco-heavy dance party featuring Lady Gaga and a gaggle of models boogying down a light-up runway.

Lady Gaga partnered with Nile Rodgers to revamp his 1970s hit “I Want Your Love” for the production. “I have always loved “Soul Train” which used to be on TV in the 70s; as it was as much about the clothes as the music,” Ford mused. And the clothes Ford showed fit right in, models strutted in sequin and sheer paneled gowns, patch work animal print minis and flowy pants all fit for a dance party, while Lady Gaga stole the show in micro-mini dresses and sheer bustier bras.

It’s a party that no doubt has the fashion crowd feeling the fomo.
