New for Fall 2014, TOM FORD launches a range of unique and luxurious sneakers. Available in high and low-tops, there are 7 different colours in leather and 5 in velvet.
The handcrafted shoe is an emblem of luxury menswear. Each sneaker in the collection is made in Italian workshops over a one week process of stitching, polishing, and resting the leather. Artisans from second and third generation cobbler families produce eighty percent of the object by hand. The highest grade European leather, taken from the middle and most prized layer of the hide, is tanned with vegetable oils, waxes, and minerals and tinted with vegetable dyes to render leather that is supple, shiny, and strong. The shoemaker lightly irons and hammers the upper onto the last, which softens and shrinks the skin. It is then left for ten days, so that the shoe takes its shape slowly and deliberately. The sneakers are then hand polished in a process that takes 3 days to achieve a deep patina that is particularly noticeable on the toe. This authentic and time-tested process ensures a fit, comfort level, and longevity far superior to conventional ready-to-wear footwear.
The velvet version is soft, smooth and has an added depth of colour when it catches the light. Both versions are complimented by a white rubber sole and finished with the same attention to detail and handwork as all TOM FORD products.
What more can you say about the Tom Ford Fall 2014-15 collection shown at London Fashion Week than… "WOW, Blown Away, Unbelievably Impressed, Ultra Luxury" and many more adjectives to define the 6 minute catwalk.
“The collection effortlessly pairs urban life in London with a sleek interpretation of iconic clothing items from the American West. From the sequin evening dress knocking off of the "knock off" TOM FORD football jersey Jay Z wears when performing his song "TOM FORD," to the spare wool and cashmere felt evening dresses that close the show, the mood of the collection is pared down, streamlined and ultra luxe.”

Paul Smith channeled Stevie Nicks as a cover of "Go Your Own Way" opened his women's collection at London Fashion Week. He cut and pasted prints into new patterns and gave his models the “skill” to pull off an effortless British lounge appeal featuring flowy silk pajamas with matching silk bottoms. It may have looked like it was time for bed however, these outfits were fixated to be worn out and about - the buzzword the designer kept saying backstage was "wearable".
As the show went forth, you began to see the transformation from “wearable” nightwear to jewel-toned patterns including stripes and paisleys as Paul Smith was inspired by wallpaper and tapestry prints. Smith gave the collection a seasonless fluidity that was balanced with color-blocked outerwear, long evening coats and many printed layers.
