With Paris Fashion Week coming to a close, we have taken an interest in two of our most acclaimed designers, Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent. Just as we have seen in other Spring 2014 runway show’s this season, these two designers who both showed on the same day, couldn’t be more different in their entire presentation.
Stella McCartney made quite the statement with her collection by exemplifying an energetic ode to femininity with a contemporary twist. The show was confident with models strutting the runway in fluid lace-detailed dresses that fell to the hip effortlessly, sheer skirts that flashed a little thigh and plunging necklines that provided the perfect amount of sex appeal. “No matter what you wear from Stella – whether it’s a dress or a tracksuit – you feel a sense of elegance without having to try,” said Cara Delevgine, who walked in the show amongst other famous supermodels.
Runway Rock n’ Roll
Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane had a more steadfast approach satisfying his guilty rock n’ roll pleasure with a collection full of sexy separates and masculine silhouettes. The variety of prints used in the collection left the audience guessing with each new outfit that entered the runway.

As part of Stella McCartney’s growing ethical business efforts, the Autumn Winter collection features a limited edition, Halloween themed ‘Arlo’ t-shirt to benefit the PADEM (Programmes d'Aide et de Développement destinés aux Enfants du Monde) charity. Made from organic cotton, the t-shirt features a bright orange Stella logo pumpkin print and is packaged in its own matching fabric bag. A percentage of sales will go to support PADEM’s efforts to fund the schooling of girls in the Kibera slum in Kenya with the goal of adding new classrooms, making more books available to students and helping the school in becoming self-sufficient.

Stella McCartney makes a splash at London Fashion Week as synchronized swimmers help unveil her new sportswear collection for Adidas!
Waking up bright and early in the middle of London Fashion Week to work out may not be at the top of everybody’s to-do list, but Stella McCartney’s Adidas presentation was so inventive and visually stimulating it would inspire even the sleepiest of fashionistas into jumping on a treadmill. With innovative active wear design advances such as oversized sleeves, swimwear with cutouts, and clever uses of sheer and lightweight materials, Stella McCartney wowed everyone!
As McCartney noted, the point of this showcase, and indeed the point of the collection itself, was to inspire women to get their sweat on. "We work with top athletes," the designer said, “and even they tell me they perform better when they feel like they look good. It's a confidence thing." One thing is for sure: Never before have women looked so good while working to make their bodies look good. http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2014RTW-ADIDSTEL/

Layered jacquards create an energy and complexity in a repeating feathered flower motif; boldly embroidered onto wool in outerwear pieces of chalk on black or navy. Scaled down, the jacquard is stamped onto a sporty quilted bomber jacket paired with a mini skirt featuring the oversized motif. In bursts of vermillion, poppy pink and garnet, the motif creates a rich intensity of color. Feathered flower embroidered trouser teamed with an enlarged jacquard double breasted blazer and a quilted sweater with an applique Kestrel bird patch
Sustainability is featured across the collection including certified fabrics, buttons and lining, recycled trims and zippers.
